Which recordings will induce an OBE?

Many have asked, "Which of your recordings will induce an out-of-body experience, or, OBE?" While others have reported that Sacred Acoustics recordings have provided support for OBEs, generally speaking, such results are unique to the individual. What works well for one may not work for another.

Many listeners report a sensation of floating, rising or expanding beyond the physical body while listening to Sacred Acoustics recordings, but not necessarily the full-blown experience of complete separation from the physical body. A classic OBE is when a person has a sense of floating above the body and can observe their physical body from a distance.

OBEs can occur spontaneously but also can be generated using intention. It has been challenging to create a recording that will ensure most users will achieve an OBE merely by passively listening to the tones. While it may work this way for a few, it is not the typical experience. It seems we are all just wired a bit differently in our brains and most importantly, additional factors are involved besides brainwave activity.

For those who have achieved an OBE using our audio recordings, it happens in various ways. Some report OBEs begin to happen unexpectedly after many months of listening, often while sleeping and not necessarily while listening to the tones. Others report that initial listening of our recordings induced an OBE, seemingly with no effort, but later when trying again, it doesn't happen. Often, a strong desire to have an OBE gets in the way of actually achieving it.

It is entirely possible to cultivate an OBE, if that is your goal. There is a fine balance of energy that must be maintained between expectation and allowing the experience to unfold. The physical body must remain profoundly relaxed while one's awareness is alert and actively engaged with the goal at hand. Regular practice will reveal fears, beliefs and anticipation as potential factors that can get in the way.

In addition to sound support, it may be useful (and often necessary) to incorporate mental tools. Our listeners report that Light Body has facilitated OBEs, not necessarily with one listen, but with repeated listening. Of note, results are cumulative and continued practice makes a difference. These listeners also listened regularly to various other of our recordings which may also have been a contributing factor. In the case of Light Body, the verbal guidance may be playing a role due to the visualization of spinning energy around the body.

Any such mental techniques can be useful to combine while listening to our recordings. Ascending or descending stairs, riding an elevator, climbing a rope or rolling the body from left to right are all imagined acts that can activate the energetic body into movement while the physical body remains still. There are various methods developed and taught by seasoned astral travelers and authors such as Graham Nicholls, Robert Bruce and William Buhlman

Other Sacred Acoustics recordings that have been reported to induce OBEs are Om and Earth, which are both included with Foundation Series 2, although Om 2 is also available separately.

If an OBE is your goal, know that it can take weeks or months to build up the ability but many have succeeded with persistence and practice. If you have any interesting stories about your own OBEs in relation to our sound recordings, we'd love to hear about it through our contact form.

@Bill Montague
Regarding the article’s recommended recording, Light Body consists of combinations of delta, theta, alpha and gamma. It is the only one of our recordings that includes gamma, but that is not necessarily what makes it conducive to OBEs. You may listen to a short sample on this page: https://www.sacredacoustics.com/products/light-body

It is possible to create binaural beats using a tone generator, but we go much further than simple binaural beats to create our recordings.

So how do I expose my self to this SOUND? What frequency is it? Is it just one frequency?

Cam I generate this stud myself with a audio frequency generator? Bill Montague

I’d live to have such experience with sounds but for some reason it scares me. I recently had an experience some days after a surgery in which I could see some sort of steam coming from my whole body while in bed. I didn’t have an explanation for such thing.
I read Dr. Eben first book and now in the proces of reading Living in a Mindful Universe.

Finely tuned sound frequencies known as binaural beats have been shown to have a profound effect on human brainwaves. Could they also induce out-of-body experiences? Sound healing expert Karen Newell discusses the mechanisms by which brainwave entrainment produces a wide range of beneficial effects, from deep relaxation to lucid dreaming to altered states and anxiety reduction.
