Precious inner wisdom

I just got this tape as part of a bundle and listened to it this morning just to see what it might offer. It helped me focus and center my awareness very nicely. I was using this as a meditation tool and without a particular intention but as the experience unfolded it occurred to me (as a knowing) that this would be a very good state of awareness for asking for guidance or to work with intentions, which I plan to do more of later. In this particular meditation I thought to ask: "What do I most need to know right now"? I must have drifted into a light sleep shortly after that because I had a little dream. In the dream I was about to be given a gift. That "giver" was scrounging around in a sort of container and then came up with something which they handed over to me saying: Here's a brooch. It was a large cat face shaped brooch studded with many jewels. As it happens I have just adopted an older cat so now I've been reminded that his unexpected presence in my life is both a gift and a jewel!

Hypnogogic images with this one

I used this to move my meditation into a deeper place quicker than working on my own. I noticed a shift into what I think is theta pretty quickly and toward the end of the tape I began to have some hypnagogic flashes. Nothing fancy but definitely a promising start. I continued to meditate after the tape ended and was able to maintain that spacious focus all the way. I like that the accompaniment is gentle with no potentially disruptive (to me) sound effects. Very effective support for stilling the mind.
